A new trailer for the upcoming science fiction film Splice, starring the actors Adrien Brody (seen in The Brothers Bloom, Cadillac Records, Hollywoodland and King Kong) and Sarah Polley (seen in Don't Come Knocking, Beowulf and Grendel and Queen Kristina), can now be seen on the Internet.

Elsa and Clive, two young rebellious scientists, transgress the borders of legality and ethics while being devoted to a dangerous experiment. This experiment combines animal and human DNA to form a new being. Baptized Dren, the creature will be transformed from a malformed human baby into a cute but hazardous winged chimaera which will weave bonds with its creators. These bonds will however take a fatal turning.

Delphine Chaneac (seen in The Pink Panther), David Hewlett (seen in the TV series Stargate Atlantis), Abigail Chu, Stephanie Baird, Amanda Brugel and Brandon McGibbon (seen in Saw V) also form part of the distribution.

This film carried out by Vincenzo Natali (who also directed Paris, je t'aime) will be released in cinema rooms on June 4th.

The motion picture production company Seville Pictures distribute this feature film in Canada. In the United States, Warner Bros. Pictures ensures the distribution of this Canada, France and the United States coproduction.

The American actor and comedian Kevin James (Grown Ups , Paul Blart: Mall Cop , I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Hitch) has just concluded an agreement with the film production and distribution company Columbia Pictures to play in the action comedy Here Comes the Boom. James will also produce the project in partnership with Adam Sandler and Todd Garner.


Salma Hayek is a key candidate to play the principal feminine role although no agreement was signed at the moment.

The details of the scenario remain secret for the moment. James has co-writtent the scenario with Rock Reuben (who worked on The Zookeeper and the TV series The King of Queens).

The filming could begin next January.

Kevin James will be seen this summer in the comedy Grown Ups in which he share the popularity with with Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider (recently seen in American Virgin, Big Stan and You Don't Mess with the Zohan), David Spade (recently seen in The Benchwarmers and Grandma's Boy)and Chris Rock (rencently seen in Death at a Funeral, Good Hair and I Think I Love My Wife). Kevin James also recently played in the comedy The Zookeeper which released is awaited on July 8th, 2011.

Note that Sandler worked with James on Grown Ups, Paul Blart: Mall Cop and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry and he worked with Schneider on You Don't Mess with the Zohan.

Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski will give each other the counterpart in Whales, a film which takes as a starting point a true story in connection with the rescue of three gray whales of California which are found captive Arctic ices in 1988.

John Krasinski will incarnate a reporter of a local newspaper which made known the news. Drew Barrymore will play the part of a Greenpeace activist. The event took an international scale when the United States president Ronald Regan and the President of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev slackened the relations of the Cold war while linking themselves and while intervening in this common cause.

Ken Kwapis (who recently worked on He's Just Not That Into You, License to Wed and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) directs the feature film. The scenario for the motion picture will be written by Jack Amiel and Michael Begler (who worked together on The Shaggy Dog in 2006).

The film is produced by Anonymous Content and Working Title. The filming could start this autumn.

Note the John Krasinski is known for his important role in the TV series The Office. He also played in License to Wed, Leatherheads and It's Complicated and his voice was heard in Shrek the Third. Drew Barrymore’s breakout role was in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. She recently was seen in He's Just Not That Into You, Music and Lyrics and 50 First Dates.

The American author Stephen King, Weed Road and Imagines Entertainment are in discussions to develop a trilogy on the big screen then a television series inspired by the series of novels The Dark Tower.

Ron Howard (who worked on Angels and Demons, The Da Vinci Code and Frost/Nixon) would carry out the motion pictures, Akiva Goldsman (who also worked on Angels and Demons but also on I Am Legend) would write the scenario for the trilogy and Brian Grazer would produce the project in partnership with Akiva Goldsman and Stephen King. As for the television series, it will be produced by Imagine Television, the television production branch of Imagines Entertainment.

At the same time, Universal is in discussions to acquire the rights on the seven novels but also the participation of the production crew behind the successes A Beautiful Mind and The Da Vinci Code. Universal, with which Imagine are bound, and Warner Bros., where the company Weed Road is based, compete one and the other to lodge the project.

Bad Robot, the company of J.J. Abrams, held before the rights on the series but the project to adapt The Dark Tower in a TV series never was completed. Bad Robot had to resell the rights to Stephen King.

Published between 1982 and 2004, the seven novels which constitute the series The Dark Tower tell the story of a man named Roland Deschain and his quest to find the Dark Tower, a structure which connects all the universes together. The story line mixes at the same time elements of western, science fiction and fantasy.

The studio Warner Bros. is supplementing the distribution for its Gothic version of the Little Red Riding Hood in which we will find a werewolf and a love triangle between teenagers.

Max Irons go, the son of the actor Jeremy Irons (who gained the public acclaim for playing twin gynecologists in the psychological thriller Dead Ringers directed by David Cronenberg in 1988), has just been recruited to play in the feature film whereas Gary Oldman (recently seen in Book of Eli, A Christmas Carol and The Dark Knight) and Julie Christie (seen in Away from Her and Finding Neverland) are in talks with the studio at the moment.

Catherine Hardwicke, the director for the popular movie Twilight, directs this feature film entitled The Girl With the Red Riding Hood. Amanda Seyfried (who was already seen four times this year in Letters to Juliet, Chloe, Dear John and Jennifer's Body and who will be seen in Marmaduke next June) already forms part of the distribution of the film which will follow a woman living in a medieval village who is terrorized by a werewolf. The actor Shiloh Fernandez (seen in the 2009 horror film Deadgirl), recruited a little earlier this week, will incarnate a logger for whom the character of Seyfried will fall in love to the great displeasure of his family.

Irons will play the part of Henri, the son of a blacksmith who, by the means of an arrangement, is judicious to be married to Seyfried.

Christie will incarnate the role of the grandmother of Seyfried whose pastime is to knit with silver needles. Oldman will lend his features to the father Soloman, a hunter whose mission will be to find and to kill the werewolf.

Helen Mirren Snaps for Arthur



The actress Helen Mirren is in negotiations with Warner Bros. to give the counterpart to Russell Brand in the remake of the film Arthur. Mirren will incarnate the long time nurse of the main character.
This role will be transformed for the occasion since in original film, it was about a servant played by John Gielgud. This last had received besides an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for this role in 1981.
Dudley Moore incarnated Arthur in the original feature film published in 1981. Arthur told the history of a playboy with a leaning fort for alcoholic beverages who was to inherit family fortune if he married a rich girl from a good family who could lead him on the right way. The character fell however in love with a woman from the working class. Having to choose between money or love, he requested the assistance of his servant to make the decision.
Peter Baynham (who worked recently on the mockumentary comedy films Borat and Bruno directed by Larry Charles) wrote the scenario of this new grinding. Arthur will be produced by Larry Brezner, Kevin McCormick and Chris Bender.
The filming should start next July in New York under the direction of Jason Winer.

A very new trailer for the upcoming horror movie Survival of the Dead, of course directed by George A. Romero, a new chapter of his saga featuring undead beings, has just made its appearance on the Internet.

The story line will proceed on an isolated island inhabited by two families which managed to maintain a pretense of order before the arrival of the holocaust zombie. The two clans of the island will be divided on the question of killing the undead beings or preserving them the loved beings afflicted in the hope to find a cure.

The distribution is in particular made up of Devon Bostick (seen last year in Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Saw VI and Adoration), Kenneth Welsh, Alan Van Sprang, Kathleen Munroe, Athena Karkanis (seen in The Art of War II: Betrayal and Saw IV), Richard Fitzpatrick, and Stefano Colacitti.

George Romero, who began his saga featuring zombies with Night of the Living Dead in 1968, directed Diary of the Dead in 2007.

George A. Romero’ Survival of the Dead has been launched in video on demand, on Xbox Live and Playstation Online and on Amazon this Friday, April 30 and on a limited number of screens on May 28th, 2010.
